A New Era of Broadcasting From Portland Fucking Oregon

Don’t Panic is a show predicated on the simple fact that most talk radio* is forced into this formulaic, endless sea of hegemony, political drivel, and badly written comedy. Jay Mackin and Kristen Bowie, in their own right, tired of this situation locally and decided to try something out. This show exists for one simple reason: We do not believe that talking in front of the microphone has to be some tool that you’d never want to be in public with complaining about things that only 80 year olds and crazy hill people with guns care about.

What we do believe in:
Portland’s Local Music Scene.
Cocktails.
Sci-Fi.
Gaming.
Senses of Humor.
Boobs.
Beer.
Bicycles.
Alliteration.
Portland.
Movies.
(Can you tell that Kristen wrote this?)
(Consequently, are you getting the gist?)

Kristen Bowie is a grog swilling pirate that disowned Gresham at an early age and followed her dreams to S.E. Portland. Years later, that dream changed and Kristen found herself writing a horrible bio for an amusing show (airing Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays live at 5 pm on http://pdx.fm. Yeah, I’m a self-promoting whore.) Don’t Panic Portland.

Jay Mackin- Jay Mackin is an experienced Pizza Delivery Boy Originally from Pioneer Courthouse Square. His dog is very lugubrious and is well known amongst the Trekkies. His favorite past time is knitting, and he can usually be found running trees at Mills End Park.

*When “talk radio” is used as a term on this site, it refers to talk radio as an artform, not a medium or a mode of delivery. By its very nature, talk radio is its own beast…solely separate from the gobs of drivel they deliver to your poor ears over an antenna.
